Note that work in this direction has already started! We need help merging it
into Darcs. The work in question is the Darcs Interface Layer in PatchWork:
http://haskell.org/haskellwiki/Patchwork

darcs get http://code.haskell.org/patchwork/main/ patchwork

Wolfgang Jeltsch and students will not be available to do this merging for us,
so we'll have to work on it ourselves, but if we do need help, we're welcome to
contact him and he'll see what he can do [1]

Note also Wolfgang's very reasonable request that if we were to succeed in this,
that we also patch PatchWork accordingly.

Wolfgang mentions the patchwork wiki as well, where there is some documentation
on this Darcs Interface Layer: http://trac.haskell.org/patchwork/
