It may be useful to spin off our RepoPath work into a standalone library.  

We may need to rewrite it from scratch using a BSD license (or
negotiating with some license holders for a switch).

Perhaps the best route would be for somebody to take up Ben's pathtype
library and see what modifications we'd need to make to fulfil Darcs' needs.

I've added Ben to the nosy list for this ticket in case he's interested.
