David, Ian,
Could you please urgently have a look at bugs 190 and 191? Various
people called Simon are getting rather nervous.
Thanks,
Juliusz

Well, I got it at least. I can't read any of the relevant logs so no idea
what happened to the earlier mails, I'm afraid.

I'm afraid I have no experience dealing with broken merges myself,
having worked in such a way as to avoid them, so others will be better
able to suggest workarounds than I.
These look like the sorts of bugs for which the real fix is "wait until
conflictors are done", though.
Thanks
Ian

Thanks. Part of my nervousness perhaps arose because mail from me to
bugs@darcs.net, and indeed to darcs-devel) appears to have been silently
swallowed (there's an open bug in the Darcs bug tracker about this).
It only got through when Simon sent it from some external address.
I didn't know about that, so the effect as far as I was concerned was:
no response whatsoever.
This seems like a serious matter in its own right. The Darcs team is
bound to appear unresponsive if it never receives the bug report, and
that's not good.
I'm not even sure if you will receive this.. (rsvp!).

Oh my. Thank you SO MUCH for bringing this to our attention. It
turns out that I thought there was a moderator for the bugs mailing
list, but there wasn't, so bug reports from people who hadn't
successfully sent in an email bug report before (and had it accepted)
were being perpetually held! :( I am so embarrassed!

Indeed, this is very, very bad. :( I am amazed at the number of bug
reports that were sitting in limbo.

I got it, and will address bugs 190/191 in a separate email.
My sincerest apologies about the poor email responsiveness! I'm afraid
we get so much spam (and phishing email) that we really have no choice
but to have a human moderator do the filtering, which introduces
delays. But alas, noone realized that noone was actually moderating
the bugs list!

...chuckles.... At least this little loop has had the independent
benefit of uncovering the bug black hole.
Meanwhile, if you can help with 191 (esp -- 190 is water under the
bridge now), I'd be v grateful.
Thank you
Simon
