darcs versions 1.0.7 (release), 1.0.8 (release) and the current unstable
hang with 100% cpu consumption when running:

I have the same problem with another repository, I have attached it as
dojodarcs. I tried it with darcs 1.05 and a fresh build from the darcs source
repository (1.08). It also stops at "diffing dir" for me. On Linux.

Thanks for the report. 

I've tested with "studium" repos now. I confirmed the issue with 1.0.9 and then
then confirmed it was fixed by using darcs 2.0.0pre2 and running "darcs convert"
on both repos before trying the "pull" again. Then it completed almost instantly.
