Not sure I caught all of this. darcs mv could maybe give more feedback about what it's doing/done: Eg. “I only need to update darcs' internal state; I notice you've already moved the files foo to bar” Comments, Florent?

The wording could be more darcsish, but that's the idea. - "Moving foo to bar" - "Moving foo and bar into baz" - "I see you've already moved foo (to/into) bar, note taken"
