1. Summarise the issue (what were doing, what went wrong?) Darcs is not ideal as a wiki backend such as it is used in gitit merely because it does not support word-based/word-by-word diffing rather than line-based.

Word-based diffing requires a new patch semantics, which in turn requires breaking compatibility with existing patch formats. Hence I mark this feature request as "Darcs 3". See also http://darcs.net/Darcs3Wishlist
