Hello,

I am a big fan of darcs, but this morning it told me to report a bug
together with the output of 'darcs --exact-version'. So, here it is.
What more can I do ?

Cheers,

    /vincent

Could you try darcs 1.0.8?

The bugtracker claims that this has been fixed.
Thanks,

Actually I coudn't, for 2 reasons. The bad one is that I don't have the
failing repo anymore (it was in /tmp and vanished in a reboot) - my
mistake, I should have saved it somewhere, sorry ...

The good reason is that I am using the pre-built Mac OS X binaries I
found from the darcs web page, and they don't provide version 1.0.8
(last time I looked).

Just to let you know : the good people from the Fink project include the
last release of darcs. But, you have to build it yourself, which in turn
requires building haskell, which in turns requires building the GMP
library, which is done with all possible optimisations. So, compiling on
my G5 at home, it becomes G5-specific and doesn't work on my G4 laptop.
And building haskell on a G4 laptop takes ages - so, no easy way of having
a more recent version of darcs on this laptop.

Sorry for the ranting and for the lack of help ...

So be it then.

Thanks,

  /vincent

Too bad. Marking as resolved. Do let us know if you run into any more
trouble.

The wiki claims that there are builds for 1.0.9rc2, which might be worth
trying

I understand that. One option might be to download the binaries for the
Haskell compiler, and use _that_ to build darcs. Personally, I just got
used to leaving the computer to compile overnight.
