Am I right that this is hard and expensive, because you have to essentially do
all the conflict resolution code before the "pull" interface is displayed, and
then either store that context somewhere, or re-calculate it all again when the
selections are actually made?
I also think this "wish" is addressed to a significant degree by darcs 2:
- Conflicts are less likely to happen
- Backups are more likely to be made
- Conflict resolution is likely to be significantly faster.
So, although I think the feature would be nice as a user, I'm willing to have
this marked as "wont-fix", at least until the "wishers" can re-evaluate the
experience with Darcs2.
I'm boldly going to make that change now, but just put it back or nag me to, if
you disagree.
