Folks:

While working on configuration of libcurl, I noticed that libcurl has
an option to do ssh transfers for you. This would be superior to
invoking a separate "ssh" process if it satisfied our needs.

However, libcurl's ssh feature is only for scp and sftp, and I think
that modern darcs has its own custom, low-overhead, one-connection,
pipelined protocol over ssh.

I'm not entirely sure about that.

Regards,

Zooko

I'm going to mark this one a wont-fix (which is a bit scary since no grownups
are following the bugtracker anymore).

My argument for doing so is that we already have darcs transfer-mode (as Zooko
pointed out). By the time such a patch makes it to darcs, darcs2 will be more
widely installed (hopefully!) and people will benefit from that.
