Issue	Issue687 don't clean out pristine cache except when optimizing.

Tonight I tried to create a reduced test case by adding just a "zip" file and
then just a "gz" file, and then trying different operations such as "put",
"darcs changes" and "darcs check". I was unable to trigger this bug.
