Issue	Issue711 whatsnew -ls is very slow (note the --look-for-adds)

The output of `darcs2 w -ls --debug-verbose' is

  Beginning identifying repository .
  Done identifying repository .
  diffing dir...
  diffing dir...

..and then nothing until I interrupt (don't have time to wait for  or 7 minutes
right now).
