Trying to decide whether to accept Patch1249. Due to the restriction this patch introduces, issue2333 is not fixed for people who compile darcs with 7.4.x. Should that bother us?

Accepting. I don't see any problem with not fixing a small bug for GHC 7.4.x, we'll be rid of it post 2.10 anyway.
