I was just doing "darcs record --ask-deps" and I couldn't find the patch that I wanted my new patch to depend on. Finally I figured out that it wasn't listed because it was already automatically depended-on due to structural dependence. It would be good if "darcs record --ask-deps" would announce "skipping already-depended on patch BLAH" for those ones, the way that it already does for the transitive dependencies of selected dependencies.
