1. Summarise the issue (what were doing, what went wrong?)
Using darcs trackdown, knowing the bug is in the last, say, 100 patches.
darcs trackdown --bisect bisects over the whole repository.
This is a problem because older versions may fail to build at all in the
new environment (newer stricter compilers for example), and writing a
test to account for that is hard, and bisecting takes more time than
necessary.
Linear trackdown really takes too long.
2. What behaviour were you expecting instead?
I'd like to be able to supply a last known-good state (and perhaps, for
symmetry, a first-bad state), so darcs won't try to test ancient
versions. Perhaps accepting --from-match/--from-patch with trackdown
might be a solution. That would give an indication of which patches to
try to build without. --last would also be a quick solution, perhaps.
3. What darcs version are you using? (Try: darcs --exact-version)
$ darcs --exact-version
