It would be great if darcs showed added lines and deleted lines in 
different colours. (Configurable colours of course.) Or even just the + 
and - on the left of the screen being in different colours. Right now 
it's all a bit of a jumble and sometimes hard to see exactly what's 
going on.

I think this is a good idea, provided the default color is unchanged.
i.e. a patch creating (and documenting) an environment variable to
tell darcs to colorize the added and removed lines would be welcome
(or to colorize the +'s and -'s, depending on what looks better to the
submitter of the patch).

For the default, I'd prefer to be a bit more cautious with colorizing
things.  And I'm leaning towards only coloring the + and -, since the
contents of the line itself may be colorized to indicate tabs and
trailing whitespace, strange characters, etc, and I wouldn't want to
hide that.

I'm assigning this to you because I get the impression you're working on it (or
have done so).  Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Colors are not yet configurable, but the feature works fine and can be enabled
using DARCS_DO_COLOR_LINES=True.

I consider it resolved.
