So far as the manual indicates (and so far as any of the darcs experts in the
room with me know), you can't use amend-record to edit the patch bundle message
(or the author). This would be nice because I have a patch that I created with a
short message when I was just trying to apply it to another tree I had, but now
that I'm sending it elsewhere, I want to write a longer message, but it appears
that the only way for me to do that is to unrecord the patch and record it
again, which is a bit suboptimal. I also created the patch when I had an email
address that's no longer functioning, so the ability to edit the author would be
nice too. 

Maybe this feature would violate some fundamental assumption in darcs that I
don't understand, but it seems to make sense to me.

It'll be a nice feature to have.  In fact, this is what issue161, a
"ProbablyEasy" bug asks for.  Marking as resolved.
