It might be useful if we had an Official Darcs Blog, for example, for posting
Darcs Weekly News to.

This should probably be only used for a fairly small and well-defined number of
things: DWN, release announcements and other newsy things.  Posts about why we
like darcs or Jason's "Understanding darcs commute" should probably stay on
personal blogs

Ok so concrete questions to ask (a) who is going to host this blog? (b) what
software do we want? (let's try Hope! :-P)

Following Simon's suggestion, I have created http://darcs-news.blogspot.com/ and
set it to http://blog.darcs.net

blog.darcs.net to ghs.google.com (I might be mistaken though, maybe simon can
correct me if he understands this stuff better)

That does sound simplest and best. This might work well for the planet (issue1181) 
also, better than proxying.

Ooops.  I first entered in darcs-news.blogspot.com as the CNAME having
just scanned your email.  I think it's now set properly, but we'll
have to wait for the wrong entry to time out.

Looks like it's working now.  Thanks!  That's one more gear for our
communications machine.  I'll add you as an admin/editor (provided blogger lets
me do this).
