If "darc send" fails the error message is absolutely no help for finding the
error. There should be some information, why sending failed or what to do to
make it work. Furthermore darcs should ask if the user wants to save the patch
locally instead (i.e. darcs send -o)

It would be helpful to know what error message you received, and what went
wrong (if you know).

I don't think that "failed to send mail to: markus@herhoffer.net" is a
good error message. There should be an instruction for fixing the
problem, i.e. configuring sendmail. Furthermore I think darcs should
offer the possibility to save the patch locally. It took me quite a long
time to figure out, that "darcs send -o" will do that, because that is
not documented in the man page.
