I think --extended-help command could be renamed to --explain-terminology or
something similar because in fact it is shorter than --help.

I agree. I suggest it be named "--overview" and add a new concluding paragraph:

"Use 'darcs help COMMMAND' for any of the commands above for further documentation"

A slicker approach (for later...) would be make this interactive, so that darcs
provides a menu of the subcommands as options and assists the user in going to
the next bit of help.
